Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is responsible for identifying business needs, documenting business problems and opportunities, and conducting analyses to present informed recommendations to achieve business goals.


The primary focus of this role will be to assist in the definition, investigation and support of business and product solutions. You will partner closely with the product and development teams and key stakeholders to conduct and document detailed requirements gathering, research business problems and opportunities, and investigate initiatives that aim to optimize cost, improve reporting, and increase usability and profitability.

The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented and have robust technology, analytical and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.


This role reports to:
Senior Director of Product, Product & Technology

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed business cases, outlining problems, opportunities and potential solutions
  • Participate in testing and validating solutions as may be required
  • Conduct market research, analyze product offerings and determine product phases along the product life cycle to inform strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate and conduct research efforts with end-users based on organizational priorities and business goals; deliver findings back to stakeholders to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and senior leaders to define business requirements, document and report on requirements, and help outline solutions to achieve business goals. 
  • Partner with the product team, key stakeholders and senior leaders to define budgets and develop financial models for initiatives and business decisions.
  • Work with the product, technology, and finance teams to improve internal and external reporting and implement data reporting efficiencies and processes.
  • Partner with product team and key stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and systems for tracking and reporting against KPIs.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of business analyst experience. Business studies, business management or IT degree preferred

Experience Qualifications 

  • Strong analytical skills for research, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Strong technology skills for collaborating on new initiatives and solutions
  • Strong organizational skills to gather, coordinate and help prioritize requirements
  • Project management skills for working with cross-functional teams on research and planning initiatives 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and ability to effectively work with senior leaders
  • Proven analytical background
  • Advanced skills with Excel or Google Sheets
  • Experience conducting business research or requirements gathering efforts in K-12 / academic markets is preferred but not required.
  • Salesforce experience is preferred but not required.
