Director, Marketing & Growth

EMA’s Director of Marketing & Growth will be responsible for establishing a highly analytical, quant-focused marketing organization. In partnership with Sales leadership, you will identify market opportunities and develop strategies and initiatives that will drive new customer acquisition, and revenue growth. This position requires an individual who is a leader of people and can inspire their team to achieve results while staying close to the work to inform best practices.

This role will capitalize on your entrepreneurial drive, deep connection to the K-12  sector, and experience building scalable marketing programs and practices. You will be expected to build respect and confidence with your internal collaborators, with partners, with customers, and with important decision-makers across the organization. You have the operational savvy to forge strong product marketing, demand generation, and a growth path for EMA, with the ability to leverage current successes while using your natural curiosity to guide your team to what’s next.

Chief Member Relations Officer (CMRO)

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Strategy: conduct market analysis and competitive research to drive EMA’s market and growth strategies
  • Develop personas and gather actionable customer insights to support and drive future marketing strategies and product innovation
  • Build a high-volume lead engine that scales our business to the next level through leadership, innovation, and world-class execution and impact
  • Own analytics of the full-funnel experience including insights, attribution, and technology support
  • Management of outbound digital marketing responsibilities include: paid search, SEO, display, direct mail, promotions, email (marketing and transactional), referrals, and partnerships
  • Management of the organization’s inbound marketing strategy: partner with internal groups to ensure timely development of relevant, helpful content for EMA customers.
  • Develop sales enablement program to provide collateral to support EMA’s Business Development team
  • Develop long-term strategies with the product, business development, and sales team to drive user growth and enhance member retention efforts
  • Manage the team’s work and fulfill organization-wide marketing requests using the existing project management model
  • Determine relevant KPIs and measure ongoing lift from campaigns; use analytical resources to prioritize and optimize marketing efforts
  • Drive segmentation and position of EMA features and new products to reinforce brand strategy.
  • Ensure consistency to our brand throughout our marketing customer experience
  • Hire, manage, and grow the team for all aspects of growth marketing
  • Ensure that brand values and guidelines are followed across all channels

Educational Requirements

Experience Qualifications 

  • 10+ years in performance-driven marketing
  • Track record of developing and leading successful Demand Generation strategies
  • Quantitative nature - experience with growth, ROI metrics, analytics
  • Experience creating and managing streamlined budgets that support measurably impactful work
  • Excellent communicator with an ability to work cross-functionally and share big ideas through stories with a consistent voice
  • Highly entrepreneurial with experience growing a small marketing team
  • Hands-on, execution-oriented leader who can balance strategy and execution
  • Experience with marketing automation software, project management software, design software, content management systems
