Manager of Infrastructure Systems

The MIS works closely with the Product, Engineering, Security and QA teams to understand the association of product releases and quality strategy in order to support the stability and scalability of EMA’s technology infrastructure. The person will also work to ensure our organization continues to meet quality standards through continuous integration, change control, infrastructure scalability and redundancy.  

This role will assume the responsibility for user administration, hardware inventory, adherence and maintenance of desktop and server images along with patch deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Responsibility for the “day to day” operations of the network, including on-site servers, communications systems, workstations, and Cloud environments
  • Ensure the stability and reliability of the technology infrastructure while maintaining alignment with industry best practices through compliance with NIST and ISACA standards
  • Administration of servers, including OS updates, maintenance, redundancy, and data security
  • Build application environments according to standards to promote secure, rapid, highly available, and scalable application development
  • Build and troubleshoot organization’s cloud infrastructure, including but not limited to virtual machines, web applications, storage accounts, cloud services, cloud databases (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS)
  • Work with technology leadership to identify and implement robust monitoring solutions for applications, infrastructure, and storage
  • Work with the Product and Technology team to develop and implement continuous delivery principles
  • Identify and evaluate DevOps Tools for configuration management, orchestration, and monitoring
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in the fields of cloud computing and CI/CD
  • Provide off-hour support and serve as a point of escalation on end user support issues
  • Provide administrative support for access across EMA’s tools and platforms

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 5 years of experience that includes significant exposure to infrastructure, cloud, and application development environments
  • Possesses a body of technical and application knowledge across multiple areas of technology, including Azure Cloud Operations, SQL Server, Microsoft Development environments

Experience Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of networking, infrastructure, security, version control and general IT best practices is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technology stack (LDAP, Group Policy, SQL Server, Azure) and GitHub is required
  • Experience with Mongo, Elastic Search, AWS SES, S3 and Lambda is desired
  • Experience with Tableau would be a differentiator
  • Light database administration experience would be a differentiator
  • Experience with infrastructure across technology stacks and platforms
  • Skills in complex problem solving, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making
  • Ability to communicate effectively via all channels with technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to effectively express (through writing or spoken word) ideas and information using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the audience
  • Ability to be visionary in the application of technology to improve services and productivity
  • Able to integrate technology into the workplace and improve program effectiveness in an efficient and cost-effective way
  • A proven understanding of desired results and effective systems that can achieve the goals of the Leadership Team and the organization
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or government law
  • Able to make effective decisions and achieve desired results amid major change
  • Self-motivated, flexible, team partnering and collaborative orientation, adaptable with management at various levels
