Test Accommodations Associate (Temporary/Seasonal Position)

Reporting to the Test Accommodations Manager, the Test Accommodations Associate assists in the review and processing of applications for accommodations when taking the SSAT to ensure all test takers with identified disabilities are afforded reasonable accommodations.

Key Responsibilities


  • Reviews student applications and associated supporting documentation, including, but not limited to: IEPs; Section 504 Accommodation Plans; private school documentation; psycho-educational evaluations; medical documentation; or any other formal documentation which outlines a student’s testing needs; to ensure that all requested accommodations are appropriate and reasonable for the applicant. 
  • Provides assistance to test taking families, Enrollment Management Association (EMA) member schools/organizations, and test centers via phone, email, and written communications concerning accommodation needs, requirements, and decisions.
  • Ensures compliance with EMA policy and state and federal laws related to the provision of testing accommodations.

Educational Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in special education, psychology, counseling, or another related field with experience working with students with disabilities, therapeutic services, and/or test accommodation services. Extensive field experience is not required but is preferred.

Experience Qualifications 

  • Experience or familiarity with the administration, scoring, and interpretation of standardized, norm-referenced tests used to measure the academic, adaptive, emotional, intellectual, and social skills and ability levels of children and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of the general educational/testing needs of students with disabilities including, but not limited to, those students diagnosed with or suspected of having one or a combination of the following conditions: physical disabilities, specific learning disabilities (SLD), neurological disorders (i.e. ADHD), psychiatric disorders (i.e. anxiety/depression/bipolar), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), chronic health conditions, sensory processing disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Superior communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Prior teaching experience with children and adolescents with disabilities is desirable
  • Flexible availability is a MUST and regular telecommuting will be made possible after successful completion of job training. Work hours may be flexible to include nights and weekends, especially during peak months of the testing season (October through January). Outside of peak testing months, the Test Accommodations Associate will be expected to assist in a limited capacity due to vacation time, illness, etc.
