Can a recommender update or change a recommendation after it has been submitted?

No. A recommendation submitted through the SAO is final. Recommenders cannot edit, revise, update, or supplement a submitted recommendation, and the SAO does not provide any mechanism for post-submission updates.

E3n will remove a submitted recommendation only to correct a submission error, such as a recommendation completed for the wrong student or by the wrong recommender, and only while the admissions cycle for the affected application remains open, so that a corrected recommendation can be submitted.

If a family wishes to invite a recommender to provide additional materials in support of an application, those materials must be sent by the recommender directly to the receiving school(s) and are not handled through the SAO.
