Seamlessly Integrate SAO Applications Into K–12 Enrollment Management Systems

Seamlessly integrate Standard Application Online (SAO) applications and SSAT test scores into your school's existing enrollment management system or databases. Enjoy the convenience of SAO applications appearing alongside those from your current system!

The integration works through an API (Application Programming Interface) that serves as a data bridge between software systems.  To turn the integration on, EMA members can contact their account representative, and we will provide you with an API key (think passcode) free of charge to activate the data flow into your school's enrollment management system.

Please contact your enrollment management system provider for instructions on where to enter the API key in their system.

What enrollment management systems and databases integrate with the SAO?

The SAO currently integrates with Blackbaud, Finalsite (formerly SchoolAdmin), OpenApply, Proof+Geist, VentureEd Solutions (formerly Community Brands, which includes the inResonance, Senior Systems, and Ravenna platforms), and Veracross.

What if I don’t use one of these companies?

As a nonprofit, EMA is vendor-agnostic with an open API, which allows third-party enrollment management systems to create an SAO integration at their discretion. If your school's system doesn't currently offer an EMA/SAO integration, please contact them to discuss the possibility.

SAO data is also available to member schools through a manual export in a standard .CSV file format. These files are compatible with many database solutions once some initial data mapping is completed. A school can map the fields in its database so that the data available for exporting through the MAP can be easily imported into its database or Student Information System (SIS). Database providers should be willing and able to support their clients in these efforts.
