Laurel is the assistant head for enrollment at her alma mater, Viewpoint School (CA).

She also currently serves as a faculty member in the enrollment management leadership program at USC Rossier School of Education’s Center for Enrollment Research, Policy, and Practice. Prior to her appointment at Viewpoint, Laurel worked for 19 years in positions of successive responsibility at the University of Southern California’s office of admission, culminating in her appointment as director of admission. During her tenure at USC, she played an integral role in opening its first overseas recruitment offices in Asia and in working to increase USC's national profile in admission selectivity. A former trustee of Viewpoint School, she was also involved in the founding of The Wesley School (CA) and is a former Wesley trustee. Laurel is a two-time past chair of the Los Angeles Consortium of Independent School Admission Directors, and is a member of the Institute for Educational Advancement’s Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship Committee. Laurel earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in French from USC, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
