Before entering education, Lawrence was a standout football player at Seguin High School, the University of Texas, and in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. He has spent the past 37 years in independent school education, serving in a wide range of roles. At St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, he has coached girls basketball, track, and football, while also serving as a dorm parent, residential administrator, advisor, and currently as Associate Head of School for Enrollment Management. He is a former Board Chair of the Enrollment Management Association (EMA) and currently serves on the boards of the National Association of Episcopal Schools and The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS). Lawrence is also a member of the University of Texas College of Liberal Arts Advisory Council and the UT Development Board. He has been married to Libbi for 38 years, and they have two children, Evan and Maya.
