Parents historically have sought traditional independent schools as an alternative for their “struggling students.” In this session, we review several case studies of atypical applicants that present “risks” for the school in order to estimate the degree of risk among these applicants. Actual outcomes, predictors, and obstacles for students are considered in order to identify, with some accuracy, those students that have the potential to succeed.
